Jillian McDonough
Jillian completed her second 200-hour yoga training in 2014 with our own Lorraine Shedoudi.
Jillian is a graduate of Framingham State and has a Master’s from Dartmouth College in cultural studies. Her yoga practice -started in 20… - has always been and will always be just that - a practice! She used to fluctuate from not going to yoga for weeks to immersing herself in yoga teacher trainings and growth. She not only is LPY’s co-owner and manager, but a mom of four as well - she has no problem keeping busy! She will admit she likes a bit of chaos in her life! She uses yoga as well as breath work and meditation to grow and help manage her everyday life.
Jillian is a motivator who leads with strength and heart. She uses both physical movement, mindfulness and meditation to navigate parenthood and business ownership/management, knowing these tools are invaluable, helping her to prioritize what is really important to her: family (and the friends that are family!), purpose and joy, and she loves sharing them with others, while teaching a class or leading a yoga teacher training session.
Jillian likes to set goals and work on advanced poses and proper technique providing her classes with a little bit of intensity and strength; but she also feels it is so important to do the harder work - relaxing and winding down! She loves a creative and challenging flow and watching people rise to the occasion - she truly believes that each and every person in class is a super hero (of life) and wants them to think the same thing about themselves.
When Jillian’s fourth was born she was mom to four kids five and under… She often admitted she likes a bit of chaos in her life, and she loves a challenge and literally dove into the chaos of motherhood. That’s why she works helping (future) moms feel safe and strong throughout their pregnancy, in the postpartum and the following first years.
